Job overview

Training period: One year.

Holland Park School has significant experience in leading teacher training and has had substantial success in training and recruiting some exceptional teachers. Holland Park School has, in partnership with its training provider e-Qualitas, maintained a 100% pass rate with the majority of trainees qualifying as ‘outstanding’. All trainees have gone on to find employment for their NQT year with the majority beginning to build a career at the school. The training is delivered by a Lead Trainer who completed the School Direct route at Holland Park and therefore has first-hand experience of what is required to be successful on the programme.

We encourage you to visit the school at one of our open days, the first of which takes place on Saturday 5th November 2016 beginning at 09.30. To request a place at this training day you should send an email to: schooldirectinfo@hollandparkschool.co.uk.

We also encourage you to read our website very carefully and familiarise yourself with our 2014 Ofsted report and our prospectus which are both published on our website. What will be clear to you is that Holland Park School is an extremely successful school and one with a decidedly clear ethos of achievement. The school’s results place it in the top 10% of schools nationally consistently. We moved, in November 2012, into a brand new £80 million school. The school became an Academy in September 2013 and was recognised by the Department for Education as a Teaching School in 2015. The school is committed to developing its trainees and teachers and to fostering the development of outstanding teaching. The school is not part of a multi-academy trust and trainees enjoy the benefits of a small and personalised community which is committed to creating careers for people.

Teachers provide outstanding Science teaching. Science colleagues benefit from the participation in the Prince’s Teaching Institute and their professional development is supported by one of the school’s Deputy Heads who is himself an outstanding science teacher. According to ability students study triple or dual science and Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Psychology is offered at AS and A2. Science is popular with students and all sciences thrive at AS and A2. Students are captivated by our offering in Science and are inspired by experiences such as ‘Dissection club’ and ‘Breakfast with a Scientist’.
