Teach Manchester’s School Direct programme is designed to develop the skills our schools are looking for in an early career teacher (ECT). We have a consistently strong employment rate for our trainees; since our inception 95% of our trainees have secured ECT positions which contribute to induction in the September immediately after graduation.

St Peter’s is firmly established as one of Manchester’s most successful high schools. It is a very popular, over subscribed  Roman Catholic High School founded on gospel values where pupils are encouraged to live their faith and to lead upright lives.

In February 2017 Ofsted told us that we are a committed and enthusiastic team and that our pupils appreciate the culture of high aspiration. They said the school had "established an ethos in which every pupil is valued and respected and thrive in the orderly and purposeful learning environment”.

“Staff are overwhelmingly positive in support of the school. This school continues to be good” Ofsted 2017.

In 2015 the Diocese of Salford said “St Peter’s vision and commitment of the Governors and staff in creating the climate for every pupil to excel is outstanding”.

St Peter's is an established Catholic high school providing excellent pupil care, high quality teaching and strong academic results. We offer our pupils numerous opportunities to fulfil their potential and develop their unique individual talents, through a range of extra-curricular activities such as sports. Indeed, St Peter's regularly achieves sporting success at local, regional and national level.

St Peter's is an inclusive school. We work closely with our partner primary schools to support pupils in the transfer to high school; at St Peter's we give pupils every assistance and encouragement to succeed and to proceed to one of our partner sixth form colleges, Loreto or Xaverian, before they move to university or the world of work.

As Headteacher, it is a privilege to lead such a thriving learning community where staff, governors, pupils and their parents/carers work together towards a common goal: achieving excellence in everything that we do.

S Gabriel

Headteacher
