This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career as a Training and Assessment Facilitator in Construction & Civil Engineering, which forms part of the Sustainable Construction Department. The Sheffield City College is located in the heart of Sheffield, 5 minutes’ walk from the train station.
Over the last 3 years the Construction Department has experienced significant growth in our student base due to high demand and our links with industry have also stimulated growth in apprenticeships.
We are now seeking to appoint a highly qualified and enthusiastic work-based construction & civil engineering specialist to assess this aspect of the curriculum at levels 3 and 4 on our BTEC construction courses. The College has high standards of practice, and associated success rates are expected to be achieved.
Your strengths will be industry based in construction & civil engineering and the built environment, and include recent assessing experience. The post involves on-site assessment of BTEC/NVQ students completing their higher education studies. You will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing curriculum and team development.
The successful candidate should either hold an assessing qualification or be willing to work towards achieving one for candidates applying straight from industry or for those that have minimal assessing experience. The applicant should also hold a full UK driving leicence and will be expected to travel. Please refer to the job role descriptor for a more detailed description.
