Training Assessment Facilitator – Maintenance Engineering

37 hours x 52 weeks (1.00 FTE)

Level 6, £22,159 – £27,007

The Sheffield College’s Engineering provision has built a reputation for supporting regional employers to recruit, train and develop their workforce. As a result the Engineering Department has seen significant growth over the past few years and is passionate about meeting the needs of industry, through the delivery of high quality training. We are seeking to employ an experienced work based learning assessor/trainer with the skills to be able to assess at levels 2 and 3 as we meet the demand for our apprenticeship provision.

Our current offer is proud to include an employer base that span large Apprenticeship Levy paying organisations (over £3M payroll) to SME’s who provide the heartbeat of the region. The College has high expectations, standards of practice, and associated success rates are expected to be achieved. You will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing curriculum and team development, with an accompanying desire to continue to develop your own professional practice.

The role will be predominantly based on site at an employer’s training facility, but there may be some requirement to provide learning support in workshops at The Sheffield Colleges Olive Grove Campus. The successful candidate will be training and assessing Engineering apprentices in a dedicated training facility to develop their practical skills and knowledge to prepare them for transition into the manufacturing environment. The college and our employers have high standards of practice that includes an expectation of professionalism, a rigorous Health and Safety policy and a commitment to safeguarding all staff and students.

The successful candidate will hold or be expected to work towards a valid assessors qualification, engineering qualifications, and have the ability to evidence a wide range of industry knowledge and experience.

You will join our excellent team, will be self-motivated and be part of a successful and growing department.  We take pride in investing in our people and being led by our values. If this opportunity excites you and can provide your next challenge we look forward to hearing from you.

If you wish to discuss the post further or to arrange a visit to the campus please contact Steven Elliott, telephone 0114 2602600 or email Steve.Elliott@sheffcol.ac.uk
