The department of Science, Animal Care and Computing is seeking to recruit a Training & Assessment Facilitator.
The Science department at Hillsborough and Peaks delivers a range of courses, including A Level, Access and the BTEC Applied Science courses. The highest expectations are asked of its staff and students, given the high profile of its programmes, particularly as the College is the biggest provider of A Levels in the City. This role is focused on improving the learning experience for learners across all of our programmes.
You will play a major and vital role in ensuring the success of our students. You will need to have the knowledge, experience and ability to support and facilitate training and assessment of full-time Science students. Your role will be vital in delivering the training and assessment of vocational skills and you will be a part of the curriculum delivery team. Liaison with the team and external contacts to arrange educational visits and talks will be an integral part of the role, as will be supporting and developing the students, ensuring that they enjoy an exceptional learning experience, with Excellence, Employability, Enterprise E-enabled and Engagement at its core.
Requirements for the post include:
- A good level of scientific knowledge (Level 3 minimum e.g. A Level/Applied Science)
- An awareness of the content of the A-Level and BTEC Science programmes
- An understanding of BTEC assessment methods is desirable
