About the Role: 

City of Bristol College is seeking to appoint an experienced, enthusiastic and proactive Transition Coordinator to assist young people and their parents / carers to make choices and provide a clear handover from Alternative Learning Provisions to college.  You will do this by attending annual reviews and careers events, hosting student and parent visits, managing the link experience process and working with Local Authority SEND professionals and college staff, to ensure support needs are met.   

This position is full time will be based at the South Bristol Skills Academy.

What you’ll be responsible for/what we are looking for:

- The post-holder will be responsible for building working relationships with alternative learning providers across the city and working to plan and manage young people’s transition into college. 

- You will also be monitoring and supporting attendance, behaviour, retention and progress whilst students are on programme.

- In addition the role incorporates a range of activities to promote and support internal progression and progression to further training and employment. 

We are looking for someone with experience of working with students who have high support needs, for example significant learning difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or social, emotional, behavioural needs and who is confident in working in a fast paced environment, with changing priorities.  

You will be a good communicator, with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written.

You will also need to be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders, at all levels, internally and externally, as well as other members of College staff and students.
