Leodis Academies Trust is a successful Multi Academy Trust with five schools in the South Leeds area. We have an outstanding opportunity for a Trust Accountant to join the Central Team.  You will be responsible for the day to day financial management of the Trust, ensuring compliance with financial procedures and accounting requirements.  The Trust is committed to flexible working and for this reason we are open to the possibility of part time working, with 30 hours per week being the minimum. Interested applicants are encouraged to discuss this at selection stage so we can explore options which meet both individual needs and those of the Trust.

Who are we looking for?

This is a new role and we are looking for someone who can make an impact and lead the day to day Finance function, allowing us to embed a strong finance provision. Previous experience of working in education or within a Multi Academy Trust would be useful but is not necessary – we are looking for someone who can bring their specialist knowledge of the policies, processes and procedures for financial management in an organisation and apply it to our setting.

In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure an effective and efficient finance service across the Trust. You will also work with the Trust Central Team and leadership/management teams at each Academy. You will line manage the Central Finance team and we will expect evidence of successful management and leadership of staff in your current or previous posts.

You will need to possess a relevant professional accountancy qualification (equivalent Level 6 or above).  You will be well organised and methodical and have the ability to prioritise and deal with conflicting demands.  With knowledge and experience of transactional business and finance, you will also have strong analytical skills.  You will interpret and report on complex financial and resources performance information to aid effective strategic planning and decision making.  The post offers challenge, reward and role development for the right candidate. The Central Finance team are based on site within Leodis, with all Academies being closely geographically located.  There will be a requirement for some multi-site working based on the needs of the Trust and requirements of the role.

Benefits include generous holiday entitlement (28 days plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days after 5 years’ service for full time staff), contributory pension through West Yorkshire Pension Fund, free parking (subject to availability), access to an expanding range of lifestyle benefits including Simply Health cash plan, free flu jabs and a cycle to work scheme.

Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, visits to the Trust prior to application will not be possible.  However, if you wish to discuss the role please contact Wendy Beasley, Leodis Director of Finance at beasley.w@leodisacademiestrust.co.uk.  Application packs can be downloaded from the Leodis Academies Trust website www.leodisacademiestrust.com or are available by contacting 0113 887 3608.

We will ask shortlisted candidates to undertake some tasks remotely as part of the recruitment process and these will take place on 3 and 4 February.  You will be required to be available for one of these dates, not both.  Interviews will be held on 10 February.

All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, two references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), medical clearance and provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Welcome to Leodis Academies Trust. Please find our schools below.

At Leodis Academies Trust we are committed to developing every young person‘s full learning potential through a wide variety of educational experiences in an environment that fosters positive relationships based on mutual respect.

Leodis Academies Trust was formed by four founding schools, East Ardsley Primary Academy, Hill Top Primary Academy, Westerton Primary Academy and Woodkirk Academy.  In September 2018, Blackgates Primary Academy joined the Trust.

Each Academy has its own identity and ethos which reflects its specific community and the needs of the young people within it.  All are underpinned by a strong sense of purpose, order and control which in turn produces confident and enthusiastic young people who value education and the opportunities it affords them.

Not content with focusing on academic excellence we all work hard to shape our young people into fully rounded individuals, ready to face the demands of a rapidly changing society. We access a comprehensive range of support and development services, in-house and externally, to ensure barriers to learning are tackled and their impact on attainment is reduced to allow every young person to make significant progress.

With collaboration at the heart of our work as a Trust we are able to share good practice, resources, and a philosophy that secures high quality teaching and learning across our schools. We focus on the breadth of curriculum; and value and provide enrichment opportunities for our young people to develop their talents and to find new skills and interests.

Our positive outlook and excellent reputation enables us to attract and sustain high quality staff teams led by exceptional leadership teams. Our tireless focus on quality first teaching secures a safe, happy and high achieving learning environment for all our young people. We value every success and celebrate the achievements of all our young people through events, newsletters and our websites.

Whilst we focus on working together across the schools we recognise that we cannot grow, develop and fulfil our vision for every young person without strong partnerships. Central to this is the relationship between home and school; strong communication and open, honest dialogue ensuring we know our young people well and can work together to meet their needs.
