Job overview

The Trust Compliance Manager will provide strategic and operational support to the Trust and its academies in the areas of governance, facilities and legal compliance. Compass Education Trust is a multi-academy trust which operates two large secondary schools: The Billericay School and The Bromfords School, Wickford. This is a new post within the Trust and Initially the postholder will work alongside the Trust Operations manager who will be retiring in August 2019.

In the longer term the postholder will work as part of a senior MAT team which will include the Trust Business & Finance Manager, the HR an Payroll Manager and the Trust Finance & Payroll Officer.  The intention is that the new Trust Services & Compliance Manager will receive guidance & training to effect a transition and handover from the Operations Manager by the end of the academic year. For this reason the working hours will be 30 per week in the first instance, but likely to increase by September 2019 once the new role is fully implemented.

It is envisaged that the appointed person will be based in Bromfords School for one day per week and at Billericay School for 4 days. The arrangements may, however, need to change as new schools are brought into the MAT and/or the Trust’s needs change. The governance responsibilities necessitate attendance at a number of evening meetings throughout the year.  When applying for this position, please use The Billericay School application form.
