Job overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Trust Director of Science to commence either after the Easter break or September 2022, to help sustain the high standards of science teaching and leadership across the trust through effective mentoring, coaching and training.  Under the direction of the Director of School Improvement working alongside Core Directors, the successful candidate will devise and implement strategies for improving science outcomes across secondary academies trust wide. 

Upon appointment, the successful candidate will be designated a ‘home’ academy and will undertake some timetabled teaching responsibility.   

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be science degree educated with QTS status;
  • Have successful experience in a middle leadership role, with a track record of raising standards;
  • Be committed and able to help all students achieve high educational standards;
  • Have sound knowledge and understanding of the OFSTED framework and other measures for evaluating the performance of a science department;
  • Have a proven track record of monitoring and evaluating the impact of interventions and strategies to secure success; 
  • Be able to devise and deliver professional development programmes that will raise standards of science teaching.

SHARE Multi Academy Trust, which comprises of eight academies, all well located for commute from Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield. At the Trust we aim to:

Location

We are in located in the Huddersfield/Kirklees district, with many of our schools in close proximity to a number of towns and cities including Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield. Due to the excellent road links, journey times are minimal, with many of our staff travelling from these areas on a daily basis.
