Salary Scale - £46,526 - £49,689 

The Queen Katherine School Multi Academy Trust is a growing Trust, currently with 3 schools in Kendal and Barrow in Furness and a total annual budget of over £13.5 million. 

Due to the retirement of the current post holder, we are looking for an outstanding finance professional, ideally with an operational background, who is adept at building strong, positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders. You will join a strong, forward-looking and supportive Leadership Team. You will work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of HR and the Trust Accountant to ensure that an appropriate financial policy and governance framework is in place to guide and monitor the Trust’s financial decision-making and economic management of resources. 

You will support the CEO and Head Teachers to make informed strategic decisions, underpinned by robust financial forecasting, management and auditing of school budgets. In this role, you will be accountable for all aspects of finance within the Trust. You will provide strategic leadership to the Trust on finance, audit, compliance and risk management. The post holder will maintain the excellence of our Finance Department as the Trust grows.  You will ensure the organisation is compliant with all company and school related financial policies, regulations and monitoring processes. You will lead on all matters relating to Trust compliance issues to include Building Regulations, Health & Safety, Insurances, Company Governance and all related compliance matters.

You will support the wider financial strategic aims of the Trust ensuring that Leadership Team, Trustees and Local Governance are updated with timely and accurate financial information. You will be responsible for the management of the Trust’s estate and provision of up to date Information Technology for the Trust, Schools and Board. Part of the role will involve some operational responsibilities for our largest school, which will include managing our Cleaning outsourced contract and our in house Catering Team. 

You will have a demonstrable record of accomplishment in the effective leadership and delivery of business support services and managing transformational change. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate, influence and negotiate effectively are essential. 

You may come from private, public, voluntary or education sector background and ideally you will be CIMA or ACCA Qualified

The Queen Katherine School is situated on the edge of the stunning Lake District; we are an 11-18 Academy with approximately 1000 students. The school was rated Good by Ofsted in March 2022.
