Job overview

 Christ the King is seeking a Tuckshop Convenor to manage the efficient and effective day to day operation of the school tuckshop.In addition to successfully co-ordinating the running of the tuckshop, you will manage ordering of stock, organisation of volunteers and maintain a clean, hygienic workspace.

You must demonstrate:
An ability to lead, plan, organise and control the day-today operations of the tuckshop including finance;
Be a qualified Food Safety Supervisor;
Have experience in food preparation and service and knowledge of the nutritional requirements of school-aged children;
Have organisational skills, initiative and enthusiasm; and
Have excellent team work, communication and interpersonal skills.

Christ the King Catholic Primary School is located 20km north of Brisbane in the Bayside suburb of Deception Bay. The school has an increasing enrolment trend and currently has 330 students from Prep to Year 6.

CtK offers a quality catholic education, including effective and expected literacy and numeracy practices throughout all year levels, as well as specialist lessons within HPE, Italian (Years 3-6) and the Arts.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.


Estimated Start Date:
  Commencing July 2020

Position Tenure:   Fixed Term

Weeks Worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):   to the end of 2020

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required:   6.5 hours, one day per week (day to be negotiated). This could increase to two or three days per week as the year progresses.

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate:   Services Level 3 Step 1

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
