An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Tutor to join our Supported Internship programme within our Lifestyle and Works team. This is a national role, full time and home based.

Mencap's Supported Internship programme combines education and work experience to prepare SEND learners for employment and support them into paid jobs at the end of the 1 or 2 year course. We have tutors based in each of our 11 sites across the country. This role will support other tutors by covering for absence, delivering some remote sessions to learners on specific topics, and supporting our Welfare Officer with welfare related topics. Therefore, the person in this role needs to be prepared to work away from home on occasions and travel between sites.

This Tutor role would suit someone who is looking for an exciting opportunity to be part of a large team helping to develop our curriculum and making the programme engaging & fun for our learners.

Essential requirements for the role of Tutor (but not limited to):

· Experience of supporting people

· Experience of delivering against targets

· Experience of working with a diverse group of learners

· A-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent)

· Recognised teaching qualification at level 3 or above

· Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills English and Maths up to level 2

· Experience & knowledge of safe working practices

· Good classroom management skills and strategies

· Good time management and planning skills

All candidates offered an interview for this role will need to provide evidence of their teaching qualification and English and Maths level 2 or above (or equivalent) at interview stage.

Please note - The salary will be dependent on your level of qualification and where you are based:

Out of London -

Level 3 PTLLS and Level 4 CTLLS £26,010 FTE.

Level 5 DTLLS, PGCE or Cert Ed £28,091 FTE.

London based:

Level 3 PTLLS and Level 4 CTLLS £27,540 FTE.

Level 5 DTLLS, PGCE or Cert Ed £29,580 FTE.
