An excellent opportunity has arisen at this highly successful Catholic Sixth Form College located in the Universities area of Leeds. The College is rated as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, is established in the top 15% of all sixth form colleges for value added and is always oversubscribed.

The College is seeking to appoint a high performing and enthusiastic individual to the role of English tutor. This will be to undertake small group tuition with GCSE learners and other small groups of Level 3 leaners for literacy skills. It is a cross-College role and is funded through the government’s 16-19 tuition fund.

English at Notre Dame 

The English department at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College is extremely high performing with a track record of achieving outstanding levels of progress. The English department is lively, dynamic and progressive in terms of its approaches to delivering GCSE for around 50 students who are re-sitting GCSE English and pass rates are significantly above national average.

There is a friendly and professional atmosphere within the department consisting of six full-time teachers and a strong emphasis on encouraging a positive rapport between staff and students in the pursuit of academic success. The team is managed by a Head of Department with the support of a Second in Department and within the department there is a wealth of experience and professional knowledge. We would welcome applications from non QTS tutors with experience of working with young people and would like to develop their experience.
