New Rickstones Academy and Maltings Academy have started its search for Academic Tutors to help support in English/Maths/Science. In this role you will tutor groups of students to raise attainment within the subjects, carrying out the professional duties of a teacher in accordance with academy policies, providing high quality teaching and pastoral care and delivering high standards of learning and achievement for all students.

This role would suit an experienced teacher. Equally, this role is very flexible and presents an exciting opportunity for applicants who have a degree (or are studying for a degree), as you will gain experience to potentially develop a career within teaching on our School Direct Teacher Training programme. 

If applicants do not hold QTS with 2 years teaching experience they must complete the School-Led Tutor Training course (11 hours, free online training) prior to starting the role.

Message from Simon Gibbs, Principal

New Rickstones Academy is a secondary school based in Witham.  This is an exciting time to join New Rickstones Academy as we continue to expand. Over the last 8 years, student numbers have more than doubled, leading to oversubscription and the addition of a new building in September 2022 to accommodate the growing demand.

We maintained our 'Good' OFSTED rating in 2023.  Whilst learning is our core aim, mutual respect and fantastic working relationships between students and staff is what makes New Rickstones Academy what it is, and makes me proud to be Principal.

New Rickstones Academy is a great place to work with modern facilities and a friendly and supportive staff team. The academy is proud to boast high staff retention and development.  We have an extensive and hugely successful CPD (Continuing Professional Development) programme to further develop our excellent staff.
