Job overview

Fixed-term role: 7 months

"Children who are unable to participate in the same activities as their peers will very often not feel included and this can have a negative impact on health and wellbeing. The key is finding possible solutions to ensure all children have the same opportunities." (Primary teacher)

Child Poverty Action Group aims to prevent and end child poverty by providing evidence-based solutions to policy-makers, and accurate information and advice so families can access the support they need.  We are now in the fourth year of our Cost of the School Day Project, working to address financial barriers at school for families, children and young people. So far, we have reached over 6,000 school children in more than 20 schools in Scotland. We are now planning to build on this success and expand the project in Scotland and to the rest of the UK.

We are seeking a highly-skilled project and partnerships development specialist to work with us for 7 months to develop a project plan to secure the funding to achieve our ambitions. As well as an understanding of poverty in the UK and its impact on education, you will have experience of engaging partners, building alliances, developing delivery plans and pulling all this together into a compelling proposition to secure funding.

In return you will have the opportunity to be part of a supportive team delivering innovative solutions to child poverty across the UK.

This post is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.
