The Role

The Arbor School seeks a special individual for an exciting opportunity that has arisen within our school. The successful candidate will play a key role in fulfilling the school’s ecological and sustainability vision, as well as challenging students to fulfil their potential within the academic disciplines. The Arbor School are seeking a highly motivated University and Careers Counsellor (Futures Counsellor) to join our school as it grows into Sixth Form. This role is suitable for a passionate, motivated and driven individual who would be excited to prepare for our first Sixth Form cohort is planned for the academic year 2024/25.

We are looking for an experienced guidance counsellor with a passion for helping students progress successfully during school, and when they leave. They should have experience of working in an international context, with a varied cohort of students who are keen to be successful in an increasingly global society. They should be vision focused with a drive to create a full, exciting and innovative programme across the Secondary School in line with our ethos and vision.

JOB SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be proficient and experienced in leading a university and careers guidance programme, ideally with experience internationally. They will provide a strategic vision of the futures programme across all year groups implementing careers and university guidance across all year groups.

REQUIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

• Native-level English language skills
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject with a PGCE in Education with QTS or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a University and Careers Counsellor in the UK or a reputable school overseas
• Appropriate university or careers guidance qualification
• Familiarity with the admission process in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and Australia

REMUNERATION:

Competitive tax-free salary, school provided accommodation, free school places for children, private medical insurance, annual airfares, and end of contract gratuity as per the UAE labour law.
