Clay Hill School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher (Unqualified) to join our team!

We are looking for an ambitious, energetic and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils.  You will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Clay Hill School is an independent specialist day school for young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC) and associated complex needs. We provide education for young people aged 5 to 19 years.

Main Duties:

  • To plan (with support) and deliver an education programme for a named child on and off the school site
  • To provide 1-2-1 tutoring with work supported by the teaching and learning lead.
  • Use creative ways to engage students in education and alternative activities
  • To support pupils to improve their personal development and social skills through mentoring.
  • To support out-of-classroom activities as part of a broad and varied curriculum – including supporting a student in school in outdoor education/ Enrichment activities.
  • To ensure Child Protection and Safeguarding is of paramount importance, including being aware of all risk assessments Follow procedures for accident, illness, absconding and absence for pupils and to adhere to all school policies
  •  Contribute to any meetings that are called for the education and welfare of pupils, including training.
  • Attend department, behaviour whole school staff meetings 
  •  To conduct any reasonable duties as directed by the Head or their representatives
  • Undertake regular line management 
  • Attend external CPD and qualification courses pertaining to the role.
