We are a school rated as Good in all areas and we are looking for an enthusiastic teacher for a Year 5 Class. We would like the successful candidate to get to know the class while their teacher goes on maternity leave in the Summer term and take them up into Year 6  for their final year of primary school. We welcome applications from experienced teachers as we also have leadership opportunities for the right candidate; including subject leadership.

The successful candidate will:

• Have a strong commitment and proven track record in driving forward the progress of children.
• Be innovative and inspirational to both pupils and colleagues.
• Demonstrate creativity in their teaching.
• Be a strong, reflective practitioner willing to learn and take on CPD.
• Have a commitment to sharing responsibility for raising standards have experience working with a wide variety of special needs.

Summerswood is an over subscribed, nurturing Primary School. The school is very popular in the local community and expanding to become a two-form entry Primary school. A brand new Key Stage 2 building was completed in December 2012. Currently there are thirteen classes including Nursery, plus a base for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our experienced Primary Support Base teaching team are very successful at integrating children into mainstream classes.
