St Paul’s School has a position for a US related role, with a focus in assisting older pupils with US university applications. Specifically this will involve helping students craft their essays. In addition, the position holder will need to help students identify and progress suitable opportunities for elite sports recruitment by US universities. Additionally, there is a liaison and support role working with the Old Pauline (alumni) network in the United States. 

The successful applicant will have experience of teaching Art and will be able to create courses for the younger students, selecting suitable materials, writing and scoring exams. The position also requires teaching general studies courses, covering private study and assisting with school trips.

The successful applicant will be a University Graduate with experience of the US University application process and specific knowledge or experience of athletics/sports scholarship programmes. Good contacts with university coaches in the United States and experience of assisting non-US educated students with US applications are also required, along with first class presentation skills, experience of writing and editing publications and experience of teaching Art in a British secondary school. 

Teaching at St Paul’s often involves some form of coaching. The ability to coach water polo would be a highly desirable qualification for this position. 

This position is based at the St Paul’s School site in Barnes, London.

St Paul’s School was founded in 1509 and currently occupies a large site in Barnes, south-west London. A selective independent school, it provides an education for boys aged 7-18 and has boarding facilities for a small number of its students.

Prospective entrants are usually expected to pass online and/or written examinations across a range of subjects, as well as undergoing an interview with a senior member of staff. In order to improve accessibility for students from poorer backgrounds, a wide range of bursaries and scholarships are available for boys who reach the required academic standard.
