Salary: £19,097 - £24,039 PA (Pro-rata to work 37 Hours x 43 Weeks)

The UTC Sheffield Academy Trust is pleased to be recruiting for our UTC on the Olympic Legacy Park that opened September 2016 offering exciting new opportunities for students in Health Science, Sport Science and Computing. Due to expanding student numbers, we are looking to expand our team with a number of appointments.

We aim to deliver an outstanding educational experience grounded in real, relevant workplace practice. Partnerships with world-class companies, schools, colleges and universities give our students a unique start to their future careers as do our cutting edge facilities and desire for excellence.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Skills Trainer for Sports & PE to work as part of our team at the Olympic Legacy Park campus. Under the direction of the Curriculum Director, you will be required to deliver PE / Sports lessons and activities including leading attendance at external fixtures / trips and taking an active role in extra-curricular activities. In addition, the Skills Trainer will be required to supervise classes across the curriculum and project time when there are planned / unplanned absences of staff members, ensuring that students are engaging in pre-set work and managing student behaviour to ensure a safe learning environment.  Experience of facilitating learning / working with students in a formal setting without supervision is essential, as is experience of supervising / organising / coaching sports activities and monitoring and securing progress.

Welcome to Sheffield UTC's TES page!

UTC Sheffield City Centre is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational University Technical College situated in Sheffield. This sponsor-led academy is part of The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust, alongside its sister institution, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. UTC Derby Pride Park joined the Trust in December 2019.  All 3 UTCs have been judged Good by Ofssted.

University Technical Colleges are secondary schools for students aged 13–19. They combine technical, practical and academic learning to deliver an education that goes beyond traditional GCSEs and A-levels.

A smaller than average secondary school, UTC Sheffield will provide 600 places for students when fully subscribed. It opened as a new provision in 2013.
