Job overview

We are seeking an experienced VET Entertainment teacher to manage technical productions at the College and teach the Senior VET Entertainment Course. 

The applicant should:- 

· Display sound understanding of technical production requirements

·  Organise personal work priorities and development

· Work safely in the construction industry 

· Follow occupational health and safety procedures 

· Work effectively in the creative arts industry 

· Participate in collaborative creative projects 

· Provide service to staff and key stakeholders 

· Operate basic lighting Assist with production operations for live performance 

· Undertake live audio operations 

· Operate vision systems 

· Work effectively backstage during performances 

· Assist with bump in and bump out of shows 

· Install and operate follow spots 

· Use power tools/hand held operations 

· Provide sound reinforcement

· Sound computing skills

· Effective verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work within a team

· Appropriate tertiary qualifications 

· Support of the school’s Christian ethos

· Understanding and working knowledge of administrative functioning of a school.

Rouse Hill Anglican College caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 and is located in north-west Sydney. It is a co-educational college and has approximately 1,300 students enrolled. 98 teaching staff teach across all year levels. 

The college was opened in 2002 and provides a Christian education program for all students. Rouse Hill Anglican College provides a well-rounded education and is proud of the achievements of all students. The college has a broad student population, reflecting the diversity of the local district and including students of a range of religious and ethnic backgrounds and of Aboriginal heritage. The average student attendance rate is 93%.

The college has modern facilities to support everyday teaching and learning. A new pre-kindergarten building is to be completed by the end of 2018. The college is currently preparing a 20-year master plan to prepare for ongoing growth and development.

Curriculum

The Australian Curriculum is gradually being introduced across all areas of the curriculum as outlined the NSW Education Standards Authority guidelines. The college curriculum is aligned with what is mandated by the NSW Board of Studies. Technology is a significant part of curriculum studies at the college, with laptops, computer labs and iPads being readily available for student use. Christian education is also a fundamental aspect of the curriculum, with students attending a chapel service once per week.

Christian values are identified as being the basis of life at the college and students are invited to become active members of their local faith communities. The college also engages on a global level, having taken service trips to Hong Kong and Cambodia.
