Job overview

Overview

Abbey College Cambridge is one of the leading colleges for international students in the UK. We specialise in helping students from across the world achieve the personal, social and academic growth needed to enter and thrive in the UK’s top universities. We are an academically non-selective college that welcomes over 430 students from over 45 countries. We share our students’ ambition for academic success and we help them achieve impressive exam results, such as 83% A-level grade A*A in 2020. We are also clear that our students are aiming at entering world ranking universities, and we see success with Oxbridge entry every year, together with around one third of our A-level students entering the ‘G5’ elite UK universities.

This is all achieved in a campus located in a quiet area of Cambridge which comprises our own boarding houses, classrooms, laboratories, study and social areas, sports, music, art, dining and performance facilities, all purpose-built to our own specification in 2016. We think of it as a modern take on high quality international boarding. We also pride ourselves in the belief that there is no better place for an international student to study in the UK.

We are currently looking for a dynamic and committed Vice Principal Academic (VPA) to join our team from April or September 2021. As a member of the college senior leadership team, the VPA helps to provide the strategic direction for the college and holds the top level responsibility for all of its academic work. This includes acting as the direct line manager for the senior academic team and the academic support team. It is an exciting time to join a college that is thriving and doing so in challenging times.
