Day Waterman College (DWC) is Nigeria’s leading independent full boarding school, founded in 2008 and located approximately one hour’s drive from the city of Lagos. The school occupies a large and pleasant purpose-built campus with excellent facilities for all academic subjects as well as sport, drama and music.
The school is fully co-educational and caters for boys and girls between the ages of eleven and sixteen. The curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England and Wales and the school is a registered examination centre for both Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and Edexcel. Since the school’s inception, results in public examinations have been impressive and DWC students move on to leading institutions worldwide, not least in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.

The Role and the Candidate
The successful candidate will be responsible to the Principal and the Board for leadership of learning and teaching throughout the school. This will involve continued development of the curriculum to meet both international requirements and those of Nigeria, preparation of the school timetable, the administration of all public examinations and ensuring that the quality of delivery in the classroom meets the high expectations of the school. He/she will also be responsible for the use of baseline data and student tracking to enable each and every student to achieve their full potential. The appointee will also make a full contribution to the work of the whole senior leadership team and play a substantial role in whole school development and strategy.
The person appointed will be an experienced and successful classroom practitioner from any subject background. He/she will have relevant managerial experience at least at the level of Head of Department/ Subject Leader. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with current educational development and skilled in the use of baseline data and student tracking. He/she will be a positive and adaptable individual ready to meet new challenges.

Whilst Day Waterman College provides a UK-based education programme, it is located within Ogun State and as such follows the directives issued from the Ogun Ministry of Education. The school also has a Learning Resource Centre located at the heart of its campus.
