This is a truly exciting Leadership opportunity for an enthusiastic teaching professional with a passion for Inclusion.  As an Assistant Head you will be involved in shaping strategic direction for the Academy, leading and managing staff as well as shaping the specific management and direction for Inclusion. 

As a Leader within the Academy we will expect you to be instrumental in inspiring and motivating both our staff and our students. You will play a key role in helping to drive the Academy forward; raising standards and creating outstanding life chances for educational achievement. 

We are looking to recruit an Educational professional who is passionate about education and committed to providing the best for our students. The successful candidate will play a significant role in contributing to school improvement by leading on all aspects of inclusion; personal development, behaviour, welfare and safeguarding. In addition, someone who will lead from the front and play a key part in helping to shape the future of Colne Valley High School.  

We are looking for a leader who is:

  • An excellent classroom practitioner who understands how to support learning for all children 
  • An excellent role model in setting high expectations for the inclusion and progress of all students 
  • Able to lead and advise colleagues, plan and monitor best practice across the school and work closely with parents and the wider school community

The journey thus far has been quite amazing for the Trust and going forward will continue to offer even greater challenge, excitement, opportunity and reward.

Colne Valley High School opened its doors in September 2014 as an Academy, sponsored by the Mirfield Free Grammar and together, by striving for excellence in all that we do, we have developed one of the most vibrant learning environments in the district.  Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Pennines, the Academy has almost 1300 student on roll in Years 7 to 11. The school is within easy commuting distance from Leeds and Manchester and is situated within a 10-15 minute drive of the M62 corridor.
