Orbital Education is pleased to announce that due to its continued success and growth, Britannica International School in Shanghai is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Vice Principal (Curriculum and Assessment) who will take a leading role in school development alongside the Vice Principal (Student and Staff Wellbeing) and the Principal.  Excellent remuneration benefits are available for the right candidate.     

Britannica has just received confirmation from CIS to proceed with accreditation after receiving an exceptional preliminary report on its first three years since opening in Shanghai.  This post therefore provides an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Head Teacher to build their experience in a premier Shanghai school.          

The key role of the Vice Principal – Curriculum and Assessment will be take overall responsibility for ensuring that the standards of teaching, learning and attainment in all areas of school life and across the whole school reflect the school’s guiding statements and the school’s commitment to providing high quality British style education.

The successful applicant will ideally have:   

  • A relevant Bachelors Degree.   
  • An MA in Education.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Good experience in school management both from the UK and internationally.  
  • A track record of excellence in teaching and management.
  • A commitment to high standards in themselves and in others.

The school is currently in its fourth year of opening and is accommodated in exceptionally well-resourced and purpose-built premises that are situated in the high quality residential district of Gubei, within 15 minutes of the vibrant Former French Concession. Britannica is quite unique in the city with regard to its smaller school and family feel environment.  

Britannica remains the only truly British owned and managed, British style, international school in Shanghai. It offers learning and teaching experiences based on the Early Years Foundation Stage and English National Curriculum enhanced to meet the needs of its international student body.  Secondary students are prepared for Cambridge University and Pearson Edexcel IGCSE and A Level examinations.
