We are a transformed Academy with outstanding leadership and management (OFSTED 2014).  Our 2016 GCSE results are outstanding with a Progress 8 score of 0.81, which places us in the top 1% nationally for student progress. The Academy is ranked the 6th best school in London and the fifteenth best school in the country under this measure.  

In order to help deliver our vision we are looking to appoint an excellent Vice Principal, who is committed to ensuring children enjoy learning and achieve to the best of their ability. 

  The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in leading and driving Academy improvement further, as part of an outstanding Senior Leadership Team. Possible responsibilities for the post include leadership of:  

  • Teaching and Learning 
  • Pastoral Leadership and Student Behaviour Systems 
  • Standards, Data and Assessment

About City of London Academy Islington

City of London Academy Islington is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in North London. It is supported by the single-academy trust City of London Academy Islington Limited and sponsored by the City of London Corporation. A smaller than average-sized secondary, it will provide 805 places for secondary and sixth-form students aged 11-18, when fully subscribed.

The academy opened in 2008 with the intention of providing excellent opportunities and education for all.

City of London Academy Islington believes that academic success is achievable only when students enjoy being at school. Its vertical house system groups together students from Years 7 through to 13, adding to the family atmosphere the school is seeking to create. It works with a curriculum which is broad and balanced, and which provides children with necessary life experiences.
