An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing school on an exciting journey, as Vice Principal. Kingsley Academy is about to begin the next phase of its journey and this is a fantastic opportunity for a senior leader to shape the future of the school. Serving a diverse and ambitious community, we are located in the heart of Hounslow, just next to Hounslow East tube station with excellent transport links to Central London. 

This is a career defining opportunity to work with our inspirational, newly appointed Principal to lead on a key whole school remit and play a leading role in Kingsley’s journey towards sustainable excellence. Our school is now one of the highest performing in England with a modelled P8 score placing us in the top 14% of schools in the country. With a highly visible Principal and Senior Leadership Team and a centralised behaviour policy, Kingsley has been transformed into a calm purposeful environment for learning. Ofsted agreed, judging Kingsley to be ‘Good’ in all areas for the first time in our school’s history in October 2019. 

Due to our school’s growth and increasing popularity in the local area, the time is now right for a review of our current SLT structure as we focus on the priorities for the next stage in our journey towards excellence. We are therefore very excited to recruit a second Vice Principal to our supportive, dynamic and highly diverse Senior Leadership Team. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will lead on one of the two following remits, and applicants are encouraged to specify in their personal statement which remit they would wish to lead:

Quality of Education (including Curriculum, Standards, Teaching & Learning)

Behaviour, Inclusion and Personal Development 

The successful candidate will benefit from working with a highly supportive Principal, as well as from bespoke coaching from a trained external leadership coach. Kingsley has an excellent track record of preparing Vice Principals for Principalship and it is anticipated that this will be a stepping stone to leading your own school. There will also be opportunity through our sponsor, AET to enrol on professional development and leadership programmes to prepare you for eventually running your own school.

Kingsley Academy

Kingsley Academy, a ‘Good’ 11-18 Secondary School that has made significant progress since 2019 that match the unapologetic ambition of the leadership team and staff to give every student the opportunity to achieve academic excellence. This year our dedication to improvement was validated with a 25% improvement in our 4+ English and Maths figure alongside a 26% improvement in our 5+ figure compared to 2019. With our curriculum offer we give students the opportunity to pursue the courses of their choice at GCSE, A Level and then have the chance to attend the most prestigious universities. This year we have had students leave Kingsley to attend Oxford, King’s College and Edinburgh. Opportunities also extend beyond the classroom with an expansive and ever growing offer of extra-curricular opportunities. Our extra-curricular activities are expansive and we have developed great partnerships with local businesses that give students the opportunities to engage with careers that are aspirational and provide students with skills that allow them to go on to lead a successful life.

Behaviour for Excellence

The behaviour of students at our school is exceptional and we have disruption free classrooms. Our disruption free classrooms allow teachers to teach great lessons, take risks and never lower standards or expectations. We believe in disruption free classrooms, every lesson, every day.

Ofsted

When Inspectors visited in October 2019 and stated that ‘the school has rapidly transformed in a short period of time, behaviour is consistently strong and a culture of respect, collaboration and mutual support permeates the school’.
