Job overview

Vice Principal

Start date: January 2020

Salary: Ark leadership scale (22 – 26) £69,867 - £77,057

At Ark St Alban’s Academy we have high expectations of our students, exactly as if they were our own children. We expect them to go to university and succeed there and then lead fulfilling lives that make them happy and allow them to contribute back to the community.

We have much to be proud of and celebrate. But there is so much more to do and we refuse to stand still.

We are now recruiting an enthusiastic and talented teacher and leader, to join our senior leadership team as Vice Principal to cover maternity leave.

Our students, in their rich diversity, working together in harmony, are an inspiration and source of hope for the future.  We value this diversity and we are committed to inclusion. We work hard to ensure that each child is known well by all their teachers and in turn, know and express themselves with authenticity and confidence.

We build positive relationships with students and their families through a commitment to learning. We create a welcoming, caring and supportive culture where children are safe and maintain excellent behaviour.  At the same time, we foster the learning habits that underpin academic success, enabling them to engage in study at the highest level.

Our academy is a purposeful place, characterised by a calm and orderly environment, where teachers can focus on teaching and students on learning. We value our students’ right to learn, our teachers’ right to teach and our collective responsibility to contribute to our community.

As a part of the Church of England we encourage and challenge each other to grow in their own faith or belief. We are driven by an inclusive Christian mission that challenges everyone to make the most of their God given talents.

We want to hear from leaders who are driven by our unwavering commitment to deliver the best education for all young people. You’ll be clearly aligned with Ark’s ethos of growth mind set and you’ll have the highest aspirations and expectations of yourself and others and will be open and eager to learn. You’ll bring an infectious passion about teaching and its impact on learning and will do whatever it takes to ensure that learning stretches, inspires and challenges every pupil to fulfil their true potential.

Closing date: 11.00am Monday 16 December 2019

Ark is committed to safeguarding children; successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
