The Role
We are seeking an inspirational, ambitious and strategic leader who can build on the many strengths of the Academy and work in partnership with our recently appointed Principal. The key focus of the role will be for all aspects of pastoral care within the academy, including the rewards and house systems.

Working with the Principal you will set the vision for the future of the Academy, putting the right people and plans in place to see that our young people leave the Academy feeling proud of what they have achieved and full of confidence for the future.

Leaders are committed to raising pupils’ aspirations by further developing their social and cultural skills- Ofsted April 2017.

About You
You will:

  • Be experienced in a senior pastoral role; 
  • Be a person who leads by example with integrity and honesty;
  • Be a person with successful experience of senior leadership and proven success in leading improvement;
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner;
  • Have high expectations of student attainment and behaviour;
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills;
  • Have the ability to lead staff;
  • Have evidence of your ability to enthuse students;
  • Be resilient, innovative and has enthusiasm that is infectious so that you encourage change in a positive way;
  • Be a person with drive and ambition who is passionate about student’s learning, development and success;
  • Be an effective communicator;
  • Have a good sense of humour and be able to maintain this under pressure;
  • Be a successful line manager and team leader;
  • Be proficient and confident in using ICT.

About Carlisle
Carlisle is ideally placed for those who love the outdoors. We are on the edge of the Lake District and close to some of the best mountain-biking centres in Britain, along with beautiful walking in stunning scenery. As well as being near The Lakes, we are ideally situated for exploring the Pennines and North Yorkshire moors. Beautiful coastline with sandy beaches are only a short drive away in the West of Cumbria, or into Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland.
