Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivational and ambitious Vice Principal with a strong proven track record at senior leadership level.  This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and creative leader to play a crucial role in the Academy, which is the city’s most improved.  You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be highly effective in promoting and securing the very best for all.  You will have experience at senior leadership level and in the development of others.  You will be outward facing to continue to develop the excellent links that are already in place and further strengthen the unique relationship the academy has with its sponsor, The Coop.  You will have a good understanding of all aspects around inclusion, personal development, behavior and welfare and be adept at leading varied teams.

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates unconditional positive regard for young people and who has the highest expectations of themselves and others.  You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed professionals who are relentless in the pursuit of excellence to improve the life chances of our students.  As Manchester’s most improved academy, with rapid and “substantial improvements” being noted by inspectors in 2016, it boasts state of the art buildings and fantastic facilities.

Our core values of Respect, Commitment and Trust (linked to co-operative values and principles) are at the heart of all we do and our vision of excellence permeates our drive to ensure the highest outcomes for every student.  This is a key post in ensuring that the Academy continues to move from strength to strength.  You will be working in an environment that is serious about learning and serious about providing career development opportunities.  The ‘outward facing’ nature of the Academy and its CPD are major  strengths.  In addition to this, The Co-operative Academies Trust and our relationship with our sponsor provide additional opportunities for career development for the right candidate.

We are looking for exceptional candidates with an ambition to make a difference. You will have the opportunity to shape the way we move forward. If you feel you have the skills and drive to make a difference, we want to hear from you.

Closing date: 12pm, Tuesday 31 January 2017
Interviews will be held w/c 7 February 2017.
