We are seeking an inspirational Vice Principal who shares our mantra ‘High Expectations lead to High Achievers’. This post will be at Manorside Academy in the first instance.

Manorside Academy is part of Ambitions Academies Trust (AAT). It is a two-form entry school for Years R - 6. The successful candidate will lead teaching and learning across the Academy, further developing the outstanding practice throughout.

As an experienced class teacher, you will lead KS2 and be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team. You will also have the opportunity to work across other academies in AAT to fully develop your leadership skills.

Role Responsibility

The main purpose is to provide strong leadership for the outstanding provision and outcomes in Manorside Academy.

Specific Duties:

Strategic direction and development of the school:

  • To work with the Associate Principal and other Vice Principal to develop overall direction of the academy
  • To keep up to date with current issues in teaching and learning
  • To work in partnership with the Associate Principal and SLT in the cycle of planning, implementing and monitoring the school improvement plan
  • To develop further outstanding teaching and learning across the school, in particular through coaching and mentoring

Teaching and Learning:

  • To be an outstanding class teacher and role model to other staff
  • To teach pupils in KS2

Leadership and Management:

  • To share in and support the leadership of the academy and to bring out the potential for leadership in others
  • To lead a successful year team
  • To challenge and support others in developing professionally
  • To endure own continuing professional development including attending training opportunities
  • To organise the day to day running of classes including the efficient management of school resources
  • To be able to stimulate and inspire children, colleagues and parents through a positive, active and supportive attitude

Pastoral Care:

  • To help promote and safeguard the welfare of the children
  • To promote outstanding behaviours for learning, attitudes and conduct on the part of all children and to implement policies and procedures to foster them
  • Ensure that a high quality of care for all children is maintained

Manorside Academy has a PAN of 420 with 391 students currently on roll. Manorside Academy joined Ambitions Academies Trust in 2015 and educates boys and girls aged between 4 and 11. We have a nursery onsite called Little Ambers for children aged between 3 and 4.
