NOR: 600 (300 at Post 16) 

Age range: 13 -19 years 

Start: September 2019 or January 2020 


Salary: £51,257 - £56,383 dependent on qualifications and experience (salary range currently under review). 


This exciting opportunity has become available following the promotion of the current post-holder at Olympic Legacy Park.  UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park was judged as ‘Good’ in all areas when inspected recently by Ofsted in January 2019. The UTC is part of The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust which includes another UTC in Sheffield also judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

We are now looking for an exceptional candidate to take us on the next part of our journey towards outstanding by providing inspirational leadership to support excellent standards and outcomes for our students. You will have a track record of successful leadership in a relevant setting and proven positive impact on raising standards and managing change.  In return, we are committed to support the new post-holder to develop their leadership skills through a focused programme of support and development.


Sheffield Hallam University, The Sheffield College and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry sponsor the UTC Sheffield Academy Trust. The City Centre site opened in September 2013 specialising in Engineering and Creative & Digital Media, following its success the Trust expanded to open our second UTC on the exciting Olympic Legacy Park in Sheffield in September 2016 offering opportunities for students in Health Science, Computing and Sports Science. 

 

We aim to deliver an outstanding STEM focused educational experience grounded in real, relevant workplace practice. We provide training today for the jobs of tomorrow. Our cutting-edge facilities and engagement with employers’ / university partners provides an exciting environment in which to teach and develop professionally.


You will be a highly skilled practitioner who understands the opportunities and challenges relating to educating 13 -19 year olds in an employer led technology rich environment.  Through realising high expectations and outstanding quality of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment, you will play an integral part in realising the vision of the UTC.

Welcome to Sheffield UTC's TES page!

UTC Sheffield City Centre is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational University Technical College situated in Sheffield. This sponsor-led academy is part of The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust, alongside its sister institution, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park. UTC Derby Pride Park joined the Trust in December 2019.  All 3 UTCs have been judged Good by Ofssted.

University Technical Colleges are secondary schools for students aged 13–19. They combine technical, practical and academic learning to deliver an education that goes beyond traditional GCSEs and A-levels.

A smaller than average secondary school, UTC Sheffield will provide 600 places for students when fully subscribed. It opened as a new provision in 2013.
