Job overview

Vice Principal: Performance & Standards

Young Epilepsy is the leading national charity working exclusively to improve the lives of children and young people with epilepsy and associated conditions, and is based on a beautiful campus in Lingfield, Surrey, providing world class services.

St Piers School is a non-maintained special school and St Piers College is an independent specialist provider: both are located on the Lingfield campus. Both the school and college are ‘good’ [Ofsted, November 2017] and moving with pace towards ‘outstanding’.

We are seeking a highly experienced and confident leader to support the Principal and Governing Body, providing operational and strategic leadership for St Piers School [5-19] and St Piers College [19+].  During an exciting time of change, you will drive success and improvement on campus across the School and College through the implementation of the Education Quality Improvement Plan towards ‘outstanding’. You will also be instrumental in supporting the Principal and Director of Business Development in developing local, regional and national initiatives over the next three to five years.

An excellent track record of overseeing successful school/college improvement initiatives is essential and experience of developing external provisions/relationships would be valuable. Experience of monitoring, evaluating and improving the effectiveness of personalised learning, teaching and assessment and inclusive practice is critical. Adept at building and sustaining effective working relationships with all stakeholders, you will be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and challenging situations. Experience as a member of a senior leadership team in leading a school/college from ‘good’ to ‘outstanding’ would be advantageous.

Responsible for the direct line management of both Assistant Principals in School and College and key administrative personnel, you will have accountability for effective whole-school/college improvement systems.

We offer an attractive range of benefits including generous annual leave, Teachers’ Pension, subsidised dining room, gym membership options (on and off-site) and Perkbox, giving you access to nationwide benefits.

We are accessible by bus, by train [via the East Grinstead branch of the Oxted Line] and by car and offer free parking on our campus.
