It provides outstanding education and support for c. 6,ooo learners through its family of local academies that include The Sixth Form College Farnborough, Tomlinscote School, Frimley and Frimley CofE Junior School.

We are an ambitious Trust with a relentless desire to improve the educational outcomes and lives of the young people in our local communities.  We now have an exciting opportunity for a Violin Tutor to join our Music Department at The Sixth Form College Farnborough.

  • Enthusiasm for working with 16-19 year old students.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-qualified graduate able to teach Violin. Each accompanist is allocated approximately 20 students of all instruments. It is their responsibility to accompany these students in internal and external concerts, assessments, instrumental lessons and other events as and when required, and to rehearse with them as required to achieve a performance of the highest possible level.  

There are currently four specialist teachers in the Music department who teach Eduqas Music A level and Edexcel BTEC Music Performance and Edexcel Music Technology to over one hundred and fifty students.  There are also currently ten specialist instrumental/vocal teachers.

The role

  • Start date: 12 September 2022
  • Finish date: 26th May 2023
  • Hours per week: 1-2 hours per week, subject to student numbers
  • Contract : Fixed term , term-time only 

The majority of duties to be carried out within the hours of 8.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday during term time plus some limited work during evenings as required for concerts and other events.

The Sixth Form College Farnborough is a sixth form college located in the town of the same name, in Hampshire. Since September 2017, The College has been part of The Prospect Trust, a multi-academy trust. The College had originally been a grammar school founded in 1936, becoming a full sixth form college in 1992. The college is co-educational, with over 3900 students aged 16-19. Since its establishment as a sixth form, the college has undergone extensive redevelopment and modernisation, and as a result can boast of a wide range of high-quality teaching and recreational facilities such as a brand-new purpose-built teaching block opened in 2010 containing teaching facilities for physics, electronics and photography among others. Around a third of the students at the college are on mixed programmes of study combining A levels and vocational courses. The college offers 33 A-level courses, with the largest being in psychology and mathematics. Of the 11 vocational courses, the largest are in criminology and business.
