Education and Early Years Services are changing in North Somerset. We are working to build a culture founded on strong trusted relationships between children and practitioners. We’re committed to creating the right recipe to make sure every child makes excellent progress.

Our number one priority is to help our most vulnerable children and young people by closing any progress and achievement gaps. Our focus is on those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), those who work with our family safeguarding and support teams and those who receive free school meals.

We are looking for highly committed, strong and visible leaders who bring people with them on the journey. You will be energised by the opportunities and challenges of system-wide change. You will be an excellent communicator with strong partnership and influencing skills. You will have the ability to make things happen within an almost fully academised landscape; leading side-by-side and as equal partners.

When you join us, you will find highly committed and experienced teams that put their all into improving children’s lives. The outcomes for children are non-negotiable but there is plenty of creative scope for you to shape the path to achieve this, reflecting both our principles of partnership and your own skills and experience.

There really is something for everyone here in North Somerset. From a short countryside stroll to running a half marathon, there’s plenty for those looking to get outdoors and explore our stretches of sandy coastline and spectacular countryside, including Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. If you’re looking for a more relaxing way to spend your time, we have a wide selection of independent shops, eateries and entertainment venues including cinemas, ten pin bowling and arts venues in all our towns.
