St Augustine’s Priory wishes to appoint a Guitar teacher for September 2018. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, and able to work with beginners through to more experienced musicians. They will be interested in developing the role of their specialised instrument within the wider Music Department. The school has not had a Guitar teacher for some time, and so recruitment will be a vital part of the job in the early stages. A music taster day is held annually in September for Students in several year groups to try instruments. The successful candidate is expected to attend this.
The Music Department aims to offer a broad curriculum both inside and outside the classroom. It is our desire to appeal to as many pupils as possible. Therefore, an ability to teach both acoustic and electric guitar/bass would be advantageous.
The post holder will be engaged on a self-employed basis and expected to be available for at least a full day per week, term time only. They will be responsible for creating their own timetable and teach weekly-rotating lessons of 30-minutes to their pupils.
