Visiting Music Teacher – Guitar

Here at Wycliffe we have a thriving Music Department and are currently seeking a peripatetic Teacher of Guitar to join our team from January 2022. 

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Visiting Music Teacher with initiative and vision, someone who can contribute to the development of the Department. You will need the passion to deliver high quality tuition, together with the skills to motivate students with varied abilities and learning needs across the full age range of the Senior School (13-18). You should be confident and able to encourage participation, helping pupils to realise their musical potential. You will be required to teach acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar, in a range of styles.

Initially, the successful applicant will teach approximately 16 Senior School pupils.

About Us

Wycliffe is an HMC co-educational day and boarding school. Wycliffe is located in Stonehouse, approximately 25 miles north of Bristol and 15 miles south of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Access via the motorway network is convenient (we are 3 miles from the M5) and there is a train station in Stonehouse (on the main line from London to Cheltenham) which is just a two minute walk from the school gates. In the Senior School pupils join at Year 9 (age 13) and continue until Year 13 (age 18). There are around 420 pupils in the school and 225 in the Sixth Form. Some 27 subjects are offered at A Level including Japanese, Film Studies, Computer Science and Psychology. Three BTECs are on offer as well as the EPQ. Main sports are rugby, football and cricket for boys with hockey, netball and tennis for girls. Wycliffe is the top school in the UK for squash, and excels at rowing and basketball and there is a thriving CCF.
