Tes is supporting the appointment of a Visiting Street Dance Teacher at an independent school based in Brighton and Hove.

The school are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and flexible individual to provide high quality teaching in varying disciplines of dance. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching secondary age students, a background in dance and strong skills in choreography of a variety of genres, including street dance and commercial.

Main Duties

The Visiting Dance teacher will predominantly provide co-curricular dance classes, delivering beginner, intermediate and advanced classes in street dance and commercial but also other genres with which they are confident when necessary. Additionally, they will contribute to the school’s co-curricular and enrichment programmes by providing dance clubs and activities (approximately 3 sessions per week).

Specific Duties

  • To teach beginner, intermediate and advanced classes within the co-curricular dance programme, to include street dance and commercial.
  • To hone the skills and technique of the students through sequences and combinations.
  • To contribute to choreography for end of term showcases / shows.
  • To choreograph a routine / routines for the annual Dance Showcase.
