St Pius X College, Chatswood is seeking to appoint an experienced, energetic, contemporary, and innovative practitioner to lead the Visual Arts Department.  The successful applicant will be suitably qualified and enjoy working in a dynamic environment.  Involvement in the cocurricular life of the College is an essential condition of employment.  

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to the Mission of our Catholic
       School

• Be supportive of the Edmund Rice ethos of the College

• Be characterised by a high standard of competency, professionalism, organisational
      proficiency and enthusiasm

• Have an ability to relate to boys and a practical knowledge of boys’ education issues
       and initiatives

• Participate in the Pastoral Program for the well-being of all students at the College

• Teach a range of classes as appropriate for the position

• Be an innovative and engaging classroom practitioner

• Effectively integrate technology in teaching and learning

• Differentiate the curriculum to suit the student needs

• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning

• Be an experienced, innovative and passionate leader of the Visual Arts for students
       from Year 5 to Year 12 (Stage 3 to Stage 6)

• Have experience in teaching the Stage 3, 4, 5, and 6 Visual Arts Syllabus; Stage 5
       Photographic and Digital Media Syllabus; and Stage 6 Photographic, Video and
       Digital Images Syllabus

• Lead and inspire a dynamic, dedicated and caring team of professional teachers

• Be aware of contemporary practices in Visual Arts

• Have the ability to maintain high standards for students, colleagues and the
       school

• Demonstrate a high level of organisational skills

• Be able to adapt to teaching Visual Arts in studio and online settings

• Implement and lead contemporary approaches to learning
