About the role  

The role is full time (37.5 hours), permanent.   

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Vocational Instructor – Electrical, based at our TTE facility in South Bank, Middlesbrough. Vocational Instructors train, demonstrate, and support students on competence based/skills based learning programmes.

With this role you will be teaching a wide range of courses such as; 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, Testing and Inspecting of Electrical Systems, Electrical NVQs, Electrical Apprenticeship qualifications, Electrical Level 2 and 3 full time courses, to name but a few.

You will also be teaching to a varied range of stakeholders; for example- full time study programme students, employed apprentices, employed electrical fitters/engineers, and international students- these students are employed by multi-national companies, who come to train at our world class facility from all over the world.


The successful candidate will:  

  • Hold a level 3 Electrical Engineering or Installation qualification, along with the following- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification and Testing and Inspection of Electrical Systems qualification.
  • Achievement of or working towards a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Current and relevant industrial experience.
  • Must have competent industrial experience in an electrical based working environment.
  • Hold or be prepared to work towards a recognised Assessor qualification (if required).
