About Batley Girls' High School

Batley Girls' High School (BGHS) is situated in north Kirklees close to junction 27 of the M62 and was awarded academy status in 2011 by the Department for Education in recognition of its excellent provision.

Home to a diverse community of students, from north and south Kirklees and beyond, who join from 11 years of age and enjoy a holistic education through to age 19. With an approach and curriculum designed to create a transformational secondary education experience, students are inspired to discover life skills, academic knowledge and a sense of achievement. A consistently high-ranking school and recognised as outstanding by OFSTED because students are stimulated with a personalised education, giving them a sense of belonging and support to enable them to focus on what they enjoy.
