Job overview

As the Vocational Trainer Assessor and IQA – Engineering, you will be undertaking the assessment and co-ordination of Apprenticeship achievement within the Engineering Faculty at Weston College. It will be your role as the Assessor and IQA to maximise Apprenticeship completion across the range of Engineering pathways offered at Weston College and to ensure that candidates are supported through their Apprenticeship journey to successful completion. As post-holder, you will need to be qualified to at least Level 4 in one or more areas of the Engineering Sector, with a comprehensive experience and understanding of wider engineering procedures, such as design, fabrication, machining and management of engineering.

Our history - past to present

Weston College has served the education and training needs of its local community for more than 100 years. It has its origins in private drawing and painting classes provided by Henry Stacy in Oriel Terrace in 1859.

The School of Art was opened on 7 February 1865 under the auspices of the Government's Department of Science and Art, and with the aid of £40 collected from local residents. In its first year of existence the Principal was the only teacher and approximately 80 students attended the six classes held weekly.

Since 1 April 1993, the College has been an autonomous public body. It is funded directly by central government via the Learning & Skills Council (LSC).
