Weldon Village Academy - Level 1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Meridian Support Staff Pay Scales Grade 4 point 3 to 5

Actual Annual Salary - £15,749 to £16,327 (FTE £20,812 to £21,575)

Hours of Work: 32.5 hours per week – 8.30am to 3.15pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 8.30am to 4.30pm Tuesday. Term time plus 5 dedicated staff training days (39 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our brand-new school, opening September 2023. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in instilling the virtues and values that will permeate Weldon Village Academy for decades to come; to get it right from day one. We will only have Year 7 in our initial intake but will eventually run a vertical tutoring model with six houses, including a 6th form house.

The role is to assist the classroom teacher in the support and inclusion of children. To support access to learning for students and encourage interaction and independence.

Weldon Village Academy will grow year by year, from an initial intake of 120 Year 7s, until eventually reaching its full capacity of 1500, including a 6th form of 300 students.
