We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our office team as WH&S/Office Administration School Officer.

In this role you will provide administrative support to ensure that St Ita's Catholic School operates safely and complies with all relevant legislation. This role is responsible for the administration and communication of St Ita’s safety policies and procedures.

Reporting to the Principal, you will work collaboratively with the Leadership Team to provide a source of knowledge, initial advice and information to develop, implement and monitor effective WH&S systems, policies, training and practices that address BCE and legislative requirements.

The role requires the ongoing monitoring of health and safety, assessment of potential risk, and provide initial advice to the Leadership Team to design strategies that minimise and reduce potential hazards within the workplace.

Other administrative duties will involve attending to office reception, answering phones, assisting with First Aid along with other duties as determined by the needs of the Leadership Team.

About you – you will bring to the role:

  • Knowledge and experience in ensuring safe work practices
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with the school community to ensure knowledge of and compliance with all necessary directions and procedures
  • Ability to communicate with and work with the school leadership team
  • You must possess good clerical skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A high level of communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • You should hold or be prepared to obtain a First Aid Certificate.

To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.

Weeks worked:  School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)

Total Paid Hours (per week) & days required: 6 hours per week - Fridays only

Salary level, range or hourly rate: School Officer Level 4 - $33.52 per hour

Employment conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
