Job overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a creatively talented and versatile teacher of Flute, Recorder, Saxophone, Clarinet, or Oboe to join our growing team of Instrumental Teachers.

We have vacancies open (January 2019) for one day a week at St. John’s Preparatory School, a thriving and highly musical school which puts a strong emphasis on Performing Arts. The role will initially involve promoting your instrument to raise uptake of instrumental lessons, which will then follow with the teaching of children aged between 5-11 during the school day. The Music Department is extremely busy, with four major musical productions a year, three evening recitals, an instrumental teaching open day and a tradition of regular church services at our church of St. Mary the Virgin and All Saints in nearby Potters Bar.

Instrumental Teachers are expected to play an active role within the life of the Music Department and are also hired in addition to assist with recitals, accompanying and to play within the ensembles for the productions that we put on.
