Job overview

Saracens High School is a free secondary school that opened in September 2018 growing each year until the school is full in 2024. The school is located in the Colindale area of North London and we have recently moved into our brand new, state of the art building. This summer we have our first cohort sitting their end of KS4 exams, and we will be opening our Sixth Form in September.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an inspirational teacher to lead our pastoral provision for our Year 11. The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to support pupils in preparing for their summer examinations and their transition to KS5. You will play a significant roll in setting the ethos and expectations for the year group, through leading a team of twelve Learning Coaches, with the support of a non-teaching Assistant Year Lead. Our Learning Groups are made up of up to fifteen children, which allows the Learning Coach to develop strong relationships with pupils and their families.

Our culture is underpinned by the Saracens' values of Discipline, Hard work, Honesty, and Humility, and we pride ourselves on every member of staff knowing every pupil. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, to establish constructive relationships with staff, families, and pupils, and become actively involved in activities both within our school and externally. You will work with all members of staff, including the SEND team and external agencies, providing the pastoral support that pupils need to flourish. You will lead assemblies and celebrations of success, as well as monitor pupil progress, attendance, and punctuality, and intervene as required to ensure excellent outcomes.

You will be helping to create a distinctive culture and philosophy so that from the moment someone enters the school, they will know this is where the learner is empowered to 'be the best that they can possibly be'. The individual abilities of each pupil are recognised and coaching for life skills, as well as academic excellence, is at the core of all that we do.
