We are seeking classroom teacher to work at our new school, beginning Term 2. The successful applicant will work with our Year 3/4 class. This is a fixed term Parental Leave replacement position, from Term 2 until the end of the year.

About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
  • Commitment to child safety
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational skills
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
  • Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Do I have to be Catholic?
All BCE teachers must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education. Our teachers who teach Religious Education are required to be Catholic and attain Accreditation to teach Religion in a Catholic school. If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.

About Us:

Star of the Sea School, Merrimac is a Brisbane Catholic Education master planned three stream primary school that opened in 2022.

The school has a close relationship with the Surfers Paradise Catholic Parish and will be located in the heart of the Gold Coast, close to the beach and surrounded by the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland.

In 2023, we welcomed Prep to Year 4 students of the local area, providing contemporary learning environments which have high expectations for each student to maximise learning, progress and achievement.

It is anticipated the school will grow to 338 enrolments in the fifth year, with Prep to Year 6, and eventually reach approximately 560 students.  Explore our school website to learn more about us.
