Job overview

We are looking to appoint an innovative Year 4 Classroom Teacher to join our successful academy at St Lawrence Primary School. This is a unique opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional to join our team in this new dynamic Partnership Trust.

We offer an outstanding professional development programme and a successful, supportive and highly strategic Senior Leadership Team.

St Lawrence is on a journey to become an outstanding primary school. We are developing excellent primary pedagogy and practice together with a dynamic and engaging curriculum. We offer an outstanding professional development programme and a successful, supportive and highly strategic Senior Leadership.

St Lawrence is the only single form entry primary school located in the catchment area for Howard of Effingham School and is a feeder school for admissions purposes. The majority of children from St Lawrence move on to The Howard at the age of 11. Our links with The Howard are very important to us and our close proximity has enabled some of our older children to attend "booster" classes at The Howard to extend their learning and provide even greater challenge.  After the May half term, our Year 6 pupils have spent their mornings at The Howard giving them access to specialist teaching and enabling them to experience learning in a secondary school environment. As our relationship with THPT develops, we anticipate many more opportunities for St Lawrence to work closely with The Howard, so that our children are even better prepared for the transition from primary to secondary school.

Benefits include:

·        KAARP Discount Benefits

·        Childcare Vouchers

·        Computer Scheme

St Lawrence is situated in the heart of the village of Effingham, very close to Howard of Effingham School. It is a 210 place primary school with one class per year group from Reception to Year 6.

The school’s ambition is to be an effective and improving school and it is with this in mind that St Lawrence became a sponsored academy within THPT in December 2014.

Our aim is to feed curiosity and inspire learning so that every child achieves success, is happy and confident in the nurturing environment of a small, friendly, village school setting.

St Lawrence benefits from a dedicated team of staff and a supportive community of stakeholders. The school has large, bright classrooms all equipped with computers and interactive whiteboards and most with access to their own outside space. St Lawrence also has a fabulous new hall, a large school field, an orchard, an allotment, a playground with a quiet area, an outside classroom, a children’s kitchen and, of course, a library.

• Pupils enjoy school and this is reflected in their improved rates of attendance. They feel safe in school.
