Job overview

Since becoming an academy in September 2009, Kettering Buccleuch Academy has seen many exciting changes. We are an all-through academy catering for students aged 4-18. We moved into our new, purpose-built building in January 2013. Under recent new leadership, the academy continues to go from strength to strength, with happy and motivated staff, a supportive culture and plenty of opportunities for personal growth with our excellent staff CPD offer. We offer a range of benefits including United Rewards, covering lifestyle and retail benefits including childcare vouchers, a car lease scheme, cycle to work etc., subsidised meals and an on-site gym which is free for all staff to use.

We welcome visits to our school so that you can experience the unique ethos of Kettering Buccleuch Academy for yourself. If you would like to visit the academy, please contact Miss Millsop, PA to the Principal, on 01536 515644 or via email to WendyMillsop@kba.uk

The role

Would you like to join a team of hard-working, inspiring and forward-thinking staff?  Then look no further!  At Kettering Buccleuch Academy, we are passionate about shaping the lives of our pupils; we all thoroughly enjoy what we do and are excited to welcome another colleague to the KBA family.  As a school, we have gone from strength to strength and we are looking for the right person to join us on our journey to good.  As an all through academy, we have state of the art facilities and a truly unique environment to work in.

We have worked hard as a team to quickly improve the standards for our children.  We believe in an enriching curriculum and ensuring that the children understand and harness their capabilities.  As a school, we are very positive, we enjoy what we do and we work as a team.  Staff well-being is very important to us and we have many initiatives to ensure that our staff are well looked after.

The successful applicant will be required to join the KS2 team primarily working in year 4.  Your role will be to support children either in small groups or on a one to one basis.  You will be required to support children who have fallen behind their peers or need support to push them further using data for planning and creating bespoke work that is tailor made to that child.  The role will mainly be with small groups, however there may be occasions where whole class teaching is required.

What can you expect when joining Kettering Buccleuch Academy?

  • Brilliant, welcoming staff who are a pleasure to work with
  • Fantastic children who are well-behaved and enjoy their learning
  • Excellent employee benefits and well-being initiatives
  • Superb professional development and support with career progression
  • Supportive and successful leadership who have a clear vision about the school’s future
  • Secondary staff to support with PPA so that the children receive specialist sessions in primary
  • Being part of United Learning who provide ample opportunities for staff

Do you have…

  • the ability to work as part of a team to deliver strong outcomes for children?
  • a growth mindset with a steely determination to ensure that all children reach their potential?
  • strong subject knowledge with a good understanding of current educational issues?
  • the ability to be flexible and play an active role in school life?
  • a passion for learning?

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

United Learning

Kettering Buccleuch Academy is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England.

Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.

As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.

To find out more information and arrange an informal visit contact Angela O'Neill (Head of Primary) by email AngelaONeill@kba.uk or contact Maggie Murray (PA) on 01536 316368 to book an appointment

Closing Date: Thursday 24 January 2019

Interviews: w/c 28th January 2019

We will be having tours of the academy on 9th January at 9am, 15th January at 11am and 21st January at 10am.  Visits to the academy are strongly advised and can be booked with Maggie Murray.
