About the School

Located in the city of Hatyai in southern Thailand, Bloomsbury International School Hatyai is a co-educational international independent school. Newly established, the school offers both day and boarding facilities for its pupils. Bloomsbury is mainly focused on providing an English-style education for its pupils, and as a result follows the British National Curriculum from Key Stages 1-5. Key Stage 4 pupils are given the IGCSE examination, with the school offering a wide range of appropriate international subject material. When they progress into Key Stage 5, pupils aged 16-18 study for the A-level qualification. Prior to this, younger students are given the typical range of subjects for a British-style school, with additional instruction in Thai language and culture, as appropriate for the school’s setting. 

Location

Hatyai is located in southern Thailand close to the border with Malaysia, the city is a regional hub for tourism to many of southern Thailand's tourist destinations.  With easy internal links to Krabi, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Koh Samui, Koh Lipe as well as 16 flights per day to Bangkok it really is easy to spend your weekends or holidays exploring Thailand.  Internationally, there are daily flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur both of which are only a short distance away, providing easy links to all of Asia. 

Hatyai is an up and coming city without the high cost of living found in other more frequented destinations in Thailand. The city retains a very 'Thai' feel  and the population are very friendly and helpful, welcoming people with the famous 'Thai Smile'.

Bloomsbury International School Hatyai is a safe, happy and successful place to learn and to teach. The school offers a British curriculum to both day and boarding students aged 3-18. We are a small school, with just over 200 students on roll, yet we offer a wide range of IGCSE and A Level subjects. Class sizes are small and relationships between students and teachers are outstanding. Bloomsbury was founded in 2016 and boasts impressive buildings and modern facilities. We achieved full CIS accreditation in 2021.

Teaching Information

Teaching candidates at Bloomsbury International School are expected to have a degree and be qualified school teachers. Teachers are also expected to be first language speakers of English, or to have an equivalent level of proficiency, and to be skilled in the use of technology for education. All teachers play a full part in the school community, working with pupils in co-curricular activities.  We look for people who are caring, enthusiastic and committed professionals.

Hatyai is located in southern Thailand, only 40 minutes' drive from the nearest beach in Songkhla Town and within easy reach of Krabi, Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Koh Samui and Koh Lipe, as well as Penang and Langkawi across the border in Malaysia. The international airport offers 16 flights per day to Bangkok and daily flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, both of which are only a short distance away,opening up the rest of Asia. It is easy to spend your weekends or holidays exploring this beautiful part of the world.
